It’s no secret that there’s an overpopulation of unwanted pets nationwide. Our community is no exception. These pets wind up in shelters where the overwhelming majority are euthanized or wander the streets and suffer from disease and malnutrition. That's where the Luv and Shoog Spay & Neuter Program comes in!
“Shoog” and “Luv” Laughery were beloved Boxer rescues of Helen Laughery. “Shoog” came into Helen’s life in September of 2007 when she was 7 months old and “Luv” joined her family a few months later. They became sisters and best friends for life. They traveled all over with Helen and her family for many years, always devoted to each other and Helen.

Spaying and neutering is the most effective and humane way to keep animals from being born “accidentally”, reducing the number of companion animals doomed from birth, and easing the burden of unwanted animals on our community.
We can help direct you to reduced rate clinics in the area, such as Five County Spay/Neuter Clinic. Five County Spay Neuter Clinic is located in Zebulon, NC and offers high-quality low-cost spays and neuters for cats and dogs. They offer a low-cost option for spays / neuters and initial vaccines to reduce unwanted litters and pet over-population. They also encourage continued health care for the pets that they spay / neuter. Another clinic is the Tarboro Animal Clinic. Please contact these clinics directly for more information on their spay/neuter programs.
